Balooz make films, mostly for free but we want to make more and if you have a need for a promotional type film or an event type film get in touch and we will make one for you.
Dees Wholefoods Videos have been great fun to make, nice to see a young business doing so well. We started off in July with the “Dee’s Irish Summer Holiday’ video. Dee used the VW Campervan as a publicity vehicle driving herself around the south west of Ireland.
Then we made a very short 40 second video on the proper technique of cooking the tasty “Dee’s Wholefood Sausages”, they are so good and cooking them following this video makes them perfect.
Over the last weekend we shot the “Dee’s VegDucken Roast” video which would be the perfect Christmas dinner for Vegans or Vegetarians.
Fibre Powering a Community, Balooz was commissioned by “Beara Tourism” to make a film with the help of some local and enterprising volunteers. The aim was to help the Parish of Allihies hopefully win the Eir competition to be the first small community to get high speed broadband. Unfortunately and despite the film being accepted by the committee involved, the film was later modified very badly with clips used from RTE probably without their permission. Also other bits of video were added without the consent of Balooz or even for that matter the committee. Even to the point of removing the name Balooz from the film and their copyright notices. This was so wrong a new film could be made about the story. Such a disappointment that some body felt they had the right to ignore respect and decency and do what they like with total disregard for the local community and committee members. Not really the way a small community should be treated. The film has been removed from The Eir Website after the competition had finished. The original film is here to be seen.

“The moment someone creates an original artistic work, whether it is an article, blog post, music composition, picture, computer program, film, or whatever, the work is immediately regarded as having been copyrighted whether or not the author writes a copyright notice anywhere. The copyright notice is optional. Even if it’s not present, the person who created the work owns the rights to the work.”
Eyeries Family Festival ran over the weekend of 17 – 19th of July 2015. It was a brilliant piece of organisation and I am sure all that attended for all or part of it had a great time. There were so many things to see and do that it would have been impossible to be everywhere. Well done to the committee of organisers. Many thanks also to their many sponsors the main sponsor being Marine Harvest.
Watch a video of the festival here (version two with Irish Dancing included and music).
The video was shot by Richie Hodges from Balooz with help from Senan O’Connor from Vantage Point Video. Sorry if we missed you, but as said above very difficult to do everything. (Just added some Irish dancing thanks to John Angles)
