Visit Whiddy Island, just off the coast at Bantry harbour lies the island of Whiddy. A magical mysterious island to spend a pleasant day or two on discovering its natural and historical beauty. Get in touch with Tim O’Leary and he will arrange your ferry trip. There is the Bank house bar on the island for food and refreshments and you can walk or cycle around the island at your leisure. The island also has some rental homes if you fancy a tranquil time away from the mad rush of mainland life. Check out whiddyferry.com for information. Eyeries 5 mile run was held today the 8th of November 2014 and a great turn out arrived to Run, Jog or Walk the course. The ambience was good and the weather was as good as it could be for this time of year. Well done to the competitors and the organisers of the “Eyeries five mile run” what an event.
