Just spent 36 hours with my father, he gave me a plastic bag full of photos of Nadette and my first trip to Asia in 1990. Asia was a very different place back then and travel was long and some times arduous. No phones, no Internet, no digital devices, it was great. If you wanted to ring back to Europe you’d have to book the call the day before and it would cost about 5 quid for a few minutes. No whatsap skype etc. The only way to get mail was to give people a rough idea where you might be on a month by month basis and go to the post office in the town in question and check out the “Poste restante”. Of course cameras all used film and we carried our 25 rolls of film with us until the end and got them developed once we got home. So photography was a careful business of composing the shot as you only got one go at it.
See some of the photos here below, also on instagram…. (I know)
Asia 1990 a Six month mainly overland trip to OZ
We have been back many times to Asia over the years, the biggest change is India, our favourite country and much easier to travel in these days, “Incredible India”
Passage to South India by Nadette a two month trip re-replenishing mind and body in beautiful South India. From Kerala to Mysore to Hampi and then Gokarna. As well as many other places. Planes, Trains, Buses and Auto rickshaws. Monkeys to Elephants and lots of people too. A sixteen minute movie of Indian scenes. Well worth the watch.
Filmed entirely on a Motorola Smartphone, the Moto E
Watch the movie here now, enjoy
