Renovator play Allihies Festival

Renovator play Allihies Festival . The band drove from Tralee to play in Allihies on the Beara Peninsula for the village festival. A great night out and everybody was rocking on the street. The music was part of the evenings entertainment which included Tug of War and Wheel Barrow racing.

Michael Dwyer Festival

Michael Dwyer Festival in Allihies a tiny village far out west on the Beara peninsula. A good turn out for the Michael Dwyer traditional Irish music festival for 2014. I did not get to take too many photos as I was busy with other things this weekend but enjoyed some good music in the evenings.

Rue du Canal

Rue du Canal appeared in the Allihies Copper Mine Cafe on Thursday 23rd January. Rue du Canal was created as a vehicle for performing the compositions of legendary French accordionist Serge Desaunay.

While mainly concentrating on compositions by Serge, Rue du Canal also traverses the musical styles of musette and tango. Other members of the group include Ray Barron (Two Time Polka) on mandolin, Kieran Fahy on fiddle and Gaspard Vanardois on guitar.

A fine evenings entertainment. A shame the lads could not come to Jimmy’s bar afterwards they had to push on through the gap, and back to Cork.
