Ok so we made it to India, “Incredible India” Calcutta was cold and we were glad to move on to Varanasi. Forgotten how cheap India is after six weeks in South East asia we’re back to cheap hotels and food and twelve hour train journeys for 5 euros…

Thailand – Koh Tao
Just spent ten days in Koh Tao whilst waiting for our Indian Visas to come through. It was great to see Dan, Uschi , Alf etc. The place is moving on and changing all the time but the feeling remains the same.
Hsipaw and Mandalay – Myanmar
So we are back in Thailand, Myanmar was a great country but we missed out the hot places as we want to get on to India where we will have heat in any case. We decided that we would go to Myanmar about four years ago despite the regime, it is a shame we did not go then as now the country is busy with tourists, nothing like Thailand but more tourists than beds means it can be hard to find a hotel room. That is no reason not to go to Burma though. A great place for all you Buddhists too 😉
