Visit Dursey Island

Visit Dursey Island with “An Postman Pat”. Across the Dursey sound in Ireland’s only cable car. Which is the only cable car in Europe crossing open water. On his three times a week trip delivering letters to the islanders for the past 37 years. All year around Pat Neill delivers the post to the islanders in his special van. A trip to Dursey Island is a great thing to be doing. In the summer there is even a bus which can take you from the cable car to the west end. Pat gives us a great insight into Dursey Island.

Dursey Island, has plenty of history and natural beauty. The island has a signal tower and the remains of a temporary lighthouse. In the autumn bird watchers come from a far to spot rare birds that land on the island, after days out above the Atlantic ocean.

Dooneen Copper Mine

Dooneen Copper Mine on the Beara Peninsula near the picturesque village of Allihies. It was the first of the copper mines to open up in the area in the early 19th century. Here is a little video I made to practice my video making skills. Promoting Beara and getting people to make it as far as here….
