Allihies a charming little village on the end of the Beara Peninsula, known for the only cable car in Ireland, the copper mining of the 19th century and quite simply its beauty . Here lots of photos and photography of the region.

Irish Atlantic Seaweed Baths

Irish Atlantic Seaweed Baths when the weekend is as rough as it could possibly be, more like December than April, what a great idea to have a hot tub bath down at the pier at Balydonegan.

It was very cold running down to the pier from the van, but so nice to enjoy the heat and the seaweed…

O’Neill’s Bar – Sunday Session

O’Neill’s Bar – Sunday Session is every week 52 weeks a year. The session in Kevin’s bar has been going on for a very long time, it is a great evening where all year around the locals get together for a chat and a sing song. When the summer months arrive the tourists join in too. It does not matter what time of year you come to Allihies, there will always be a bit of craic in O’Neill’s bar on a Sunday night. Sure you’ve a great life of it…

Lehanmora Pantomime – Behind the scenes

Lehanmora Pantomime – Behind the scenes where all the action is. The Pantomime has been a huge success this year. Lots of people involved, Billy and Carina writing the original script. Which of course changes as the practices go by to add in more fun to the show.

Many thanks to the Women’s shed and Ger for creating costumes. A special mention for recently departed Desie Merrigan for writing the great song used in the Panto. “The Blowins and the locals should be friends”

Billy Murray for the set, with help from Ryan, Lilly and Lucy.

Back stage much needed help from Sarah who prompts any one of us who forgets their lines, and Nadette for the fantastic make up.
