Neil wins first race

Neil wins first race at Currow in county Kerry. Delighted of course that I am to say that he rode a brilliant race. Seven laps of a 6.5KM circuit and at the end of lap two going up the drag to the finish line he decided to go for a break. He fully expected the lads to catch him up again but he got away with it. Five laps alone with his break fluctuating between 45 and 15 seconds. At the finish line I guess he had 20 seconds. Some of the lads in Kanturk cycling club did a good job of looking after the bunch which certainly helped him to retain his lead. DELIGHTED… 45KM Race at Average of 37KMH

Beara Charity Cycle 2016

Beara Charity Cycle 2016 has been announced for the 16th of July. What makes the Beara Charity Cycle so great is that it is organised fully by volunteers and is a non profit event, all of the money made by the participants paying their 50€ to take part goes to four local charities.

This is the sixth year that the event is being held and over the years this event has succeeded in raising 65000€ for local charities. The participants always have a great time and the routes are spectacular.

National Hill Climb Championships 2015

National Hill Climb Championships 2015 took place on the 3rd of October. Organised very well by the Valley Wheelers Cycling Club of Ballingeary, in Co. Cork. It was a tough circuit of over 6 KM starting with the first half of fast rolling countryside but ending with a steep climb of over 2 KM to the finish line. Over 50 riders took part and the club were fortunate to get some podium places for their own members. It was a great day out and hope all enjoyed themselves.

Should be possible to spot yourself in the video. My Neil rode the circuit before hand with the camera to get some riding shots.
