Bere Island

Bere Island one of the islands of the South West coast of Ireland in County Cork. A great place to visit with many interesting things to do and see.

Watch the video below for an insight to the Island

Lets hope the Island and the other non-Irish speaking islands can keep their funding for the future.

Nouveau, maintenant en Français egalement….

This is a promotion Beara post on a “Zero Euro Budget”, in that, it did not cost anything. However 8.15 Euro was spent on tea and biscuits, 16 Euro on petrol and 16 Euro on the ferry fare. Plus 26 hours of work.

Sonia O’Sullivan will be visiting Bere Island soon to do their Parkrun. Thanks To Helen and John for giving me some time and information on my two trips to Bere Island.

Dooneen Copper Mine

Dooneen Copper Mine on the Beara Peninsula near the picturesque village of Allihies. It was the first of the copper mines to open up in the area in the early 19th century. Here is a little video I made to practice my video making skills. Promoting Beara and getting people to make it as far as here….

Watch the short video about the Dooneen Copper Mine Below

This video was shot on a zero budget.

Balydonegan Waves

Balydonegan waves first winds of October rise up the sea to create some nice rolling wave. I used a very high shutter speed of 1/8000th of a second and an ISO of 400 to get these shots. Some of the shots are not as sharp as I would have liked and I put this down to the cheap lens I was using. The lens was on infinity setting so there should be a sharp spot on each image. The effects of the frozen sea are quite good though.
